Description
By 2030, Uzbekistan had set itself a high goal of becoming an upper-middle-income state, with a special emphasis on the development of the kattava stable middle-class socio-economic layer. Today's reforms in Uzbekistan are mainly aimed at the development of small business and private entrepreneurship (SME), since small business and private entrepreneurship have the greatest potential to create a real base for the formation of the middle class. In addition to outlining the evidence of the socio-economic importance of SMEs, this article also addresses the current state of small business and private enterprise policy and its prospects in Uzbekistan.
