Fusarium oxysporum 120 dan ortiq o'simlik turlarida kasallik qo'zg'atuvchi keng tarqalgan va keng tarqalgan tuproqli patogen hisoblanadi. Fusarium oxysporum. Fusariumning iqtisodiy jihatdan eng muhim va tez-tez uchraydigan turlari. Bu tuproqda tarqalgan aseksual qo'ziqorin patogen (o'simlik, hayvon va odam) va patogen bo'lmagan shtammlarni o'z ichiga olishi ma'lum. Ilmiy va iqtisodiy ahamiyati bo'yicha qo'ziqorin qo'zg'atuvchilarining eng yaxshi 10 ta ro'yxatida beshinchi o'rinni egallaydi. Fusarium oxysporum jinsining pishmagan qo'ziqorinlari keltirib chiqaradigan o'simlik kasalligi. Tuproqda va o'simlik qoldiqlarida saqlanadigan qo'ziqorin ildiz tizimi va poyaning pastki qismi orqali o'simlikka kiradi. Shikastlangan urug'lar va ko'chatlar ham kasallik manbai hisoblanadi. F. oxysporum kasalligining dastlabki bosqichlarida o'simliklarda tashqi belgilar aniq ko'rinmaydi, bu bosqich ko'pincha yashirin jarayonga o'tadi. Kasallikning yashirin bosqichidan keyin o'simlik sarg'ayishni boshlaydi, meva shakllanishi to'xtaydi, o'simlik o'ladi va quriydi. Jigarrang, to'q jigarrang va qora yaralar kuchli infektsiyalangan o'simliklarning ildiz bo'yni va poyasida shakllana boshlaydi.
