This article covers the importance of Independent Education in the process of formation and development of professional competencies in students theoretically-methodologically. The competency approach, changes in the modern paradigms of education and the possibilities of deepening the professional training of students through independent activities are analyzed. The results of the study serve to develop theoretical foundations and methodological recommendations for the effective organization of Independent Education.
