Abstract

This article will analyze the past, present and forecast the future of economic development. It begins with a definition and measure of economic development. Then the main aspects of the economic and human development of the past seventies are shown and the current landscape is described. The article covers the future of economic development, the challenges faced by developing countries, especially the opportunities and risks caused by a global downward trend in the latest share of labor in general economic activity.
