Siydik inson hayotining asosiy mahsulotlaridan biridir. Uning asosiy komponenti, siydik umumiy hajmining 92-99% ini tashkil etadigan suvdir. Ortiqcha suv bilan birga parchalanadigan mahsulotlar, toksinlar va zaharlar, gormonlar va boshqa ba'zi moddalar tanadan ajralib chiqadi. Shuning uchun siydikni tahlil qilish ko’p ma'lumotni taqdim etadi. Umumiy siydik tahlili asosiy diagnostik tadqiqotlardan biri bo'lib, u turli xil kasalliklar va patologiyalarga shubha qilishda, birinchi navbatda buyraklar va siydik tizimining kasalliklarida, shuningdek profilaktik tekshiruvlar paytida va davolash samaradorligini nazorat qilish uchun buyuriladi.
