Oziq-ovqat mahsulotlarini qadoqlash oziq-ovqat sanoati rivojlanishining muhim tarkibiy qismidir, chunki u oziq-ovqat mahsulotlarini fizik, kimyoviy va biologik ifloslanishdan himoya qilishga qodir. Sintetik plastmassa qadoqlash uchun eng ko‘p qo‘llaniladi, ammo bu katta ekologik muammolarni keltirib chiqaradi. Tabiiy polimerlardan olingan biologik parchalanadigan plastmassalardan foydalanish bu muammolarni hal qilishi mumkinligini aniqlandi.
