This article covers the theoretical foundations and practical issues of state regulation of monopolies. Monopolies can adversely affect market failure and social welfare, so state intervention is necessary. The article analyzes the main issues in the emergence of monopolies, state regulation and the implementation of antimonopoly policies. The role and methods of the state in ensuring the effective functioning of the market, promoting competition and protecting the interests of consumers are also indicated by the regulation of monopolies. The article highlights the scientific and practical importance of antitrust enforcement in maintaining economic stability and promoting social justice.
